About the author

Ciao. I'm Mary Louise, a technical writer, editor and technology trainer. I have many interests such as, travel, food, wine, music, reading, writing, cycling, all things Italian (especially Abruzzo), farmers markets, theatre and art. I live in Adelaide, South Australia with my husband Roo and a ginger tabby cat, Jose Gonzalez. I am compelled to take pictures of food and write about it. Travel-wise, I am mildly obsessed with Italy but I travel to, and write about, other places as well. See my other site MLT at Large.

The New Yearโ€™s lentils have been eaten. The pork and fennel sausage, as always, from our favorite butchers @marinomeatandfoodstore in the @adelcentralmarket. All the best to our friends and family, near and far, for a healthy and happy 2021.

Sagne e ceci. Pasta and chick peas. A simple dish with complex flavours. Sagne are small pieces of pasta in odd shapes, these the leftover scraps from a previous pasta-making adventure. Some of the raw sagne are fried in a little olive oil. The chickpeas are cooked in a little stock with the raw pasta added towards the end for a few minutes, then the fried bits sprinkled on top. Drizzle some olive oil on and add some grated pecorino cheese and pepperoncini (dried chili peppers ๐ŸŒถ) to finish. #abruzzofood #ciboabruzzese #simpleyetsatisfying #AbruzzoinAdelaide
